​​​​Leys Orchestra takes a peek at the musical home-away-from-home of early Aucklanders. The programme focuses on light orchestral music as Auckland was maturing from a far-flung European outpost in the south pacific into the multicultural cosmopolitan city of today.

Performing selections from our heritage music collection, you are taken on a musical jaunt from an energetic foxtrot and a motor car that suffers a puncture to musical cameos of London life and music for silent movies. 

​

Your adventure includes quiet moments of reflection, a new take on a children's favourite, a romantic intermezzo, and concludes with the ever popular 'Land of Hope and Glory'. 

​

After the escapade, meet the orchestra over some light refreshments.
